President Trump said on September 18 that the site of a new US Army base in Poland would be announced "very soon," according to reports.
Poland has long sought a permanent US military presence, and has offered to contribute to the cost of hosting American forces.
The report did not give details on the size of the base or the number of troops.
The announcement would add to NATO's posture on its eastern flank. Official statements from the Pentagon and the Polish defence ministry will provide the details.
